* As with many European countries Slovakia has a similar process when it comes to buying a property there. As an EU member the property market of Slovakia is open to all other citizens of EU.
* The process of buying is simple. Once you have picked the apartment you want to purchase, the first thing you have to do is to sign a reservation agreement and have a deposit of 3,000 euros ready as this will secure the property for you and the legal process can begin.
* In 30 days after the deposit has been paid there will be a pre-purchase agreement signed by both parties as to make sure the parties understand their rights and obligations. The paid deposit will be applied against the purchase price of the apartment.
* Prices start from €60,500 for a Studio Apt and from €96,280 for a 1 bed Apt.
* Completion is end of 2007 and a 70% Mortgage is available.
