Slovakia is a landlocked republic in Central Europe with a population of over five million. Slovakia joined the EU in May 2004. The capital and largest city is Bratislava.

Slovakia has been going through some major privatization and has made great use of it's EU membership.

As an EU member a number of low cost airlines do fly into Slovakia's capital with long haul flights easily accessed from neighboring Vienna.

Predictions have been made for 10-15% annual growth in the next few years. This will be mostly driven by a lack of properties, low prices in an EU market, low unemployment and new mortgage products.
