Smolnícka Huta is a village and also a municipality in the Gelnica District, Kosice Region in the eastern part of Slovakia. Gelnica District part of the Kosice Region of Western Slovakia and was a part of the Hungarian county of Spis till about 1918. The Kosice Region is one of the 8 major administrative regions in Slovakia and measures about 6753 square kilometers and has a population of 766,012 according 2001 Census. Located in Eastern Slovakia, Kosice has 11 districts and Smolnicka Huta is one of the hamlets in the Gelnica District.
