Bratislava, the state capital of Slovakia, spreads on both banks of the Danube River. It ranks among the warmest spots in Slovakia with a temperature of 10 °C.
Tatra is a mountain range on the border of Slovakia, the highest part of the Carpathian Mountains. A well-known winter sport region, it offers many resorts.
Chopok, the second highest peak in the main ridge of Low Tatras, is an excellent area for skiing with different levels of tracks, seat elevators, and ski tows.
Donovaly, the second largest ski resort in Slovakia, is situated at the entrance to the Low Tatras mountain range. Donovaly offers also a great noghtlife with a variety of cool bars.
